Fraudulent recruiting solicitations aimed at truck drivers are on the rise, and some scammers are even pretending to be Drive My Way.

Scams Are on the Rise

If you hold a CDL, your phone probably never stops ringing. Texts, emails, and voicemails promise top pay, daily home time, and large sign-on bonuses. Some of those messages come from honest recruiters working on behalf of real carriers. But a growing number come from people who have no job to offer at all. They are after one thing: your personal information, and the money they can make from it.

At Drive My Way, we hear from drivers who have been caught up in these schemes. We want you to know how they work, how to spot them, and what to do if someone contacts you claiming to be with us.

Why They Do It

To a scammer, your name, phone number, CDL details, Social Security number, and work history are a product. That data gets sold to lead brokers, passed between recruiting operations, or used to open accounts in your name. Some scammers also charge fees for “document processing” that no legitimate carrier requires. Either way, they make money off you, and you are left with more spam and a higher risk of identity theft.

How These Scams Typically Work

  • The person claims you already expressed interest, or that you gave them your information.
  • They offer an impressive job with perks and pay well above what the market offers.
  • They mention a “confidential search” for a well-known carrier, so they cannot share details.
  • They use a Gmail or other free email account, with no working company phone number.
  • They push you to a paid document service or a website that looks official but is not.

One Scam Example: aim-recruitings.net

We have been made aware of individuals contacting drivers about jobs while claiming to be with Drive My Way. In one case, the caller sends drivers to a website and asks them to enter all their personal information.

Do not visit or submit any information on aim-recruitings.net It is not affiliated with Drive My Way in any way.

What to Do If You Suspect a Scam

1. If someone says they are with Drive My Way, contact us directly at drivercare@drivemyway.com or call 1-800-411-5840 before sharing anything. We will tell you whether the opportunity is legitimate.

2. If someone says they are recruiting for a specific carrier, contact that company through its official website or main phone number to verify the job and report the behavior.

3. Never pay to apply or click unfamiliar links. Type a company’s web address into your browser yourself.

4. Be careful on social media. Scammers watch driver Facebook groups for people posting that they are looking for work.

5. If you already shared personal information, place a fraud alert with the credit bureaus, watch your accounts, and report the scam to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
