DMW - Alayna Klco - Celebrate FourthFireworks, the American flag, soldiers, family, a cookout. What picture does the 4th of July evoke for you?

For some, it is a solemn day spent in remembrance of our fallen soldiers who gave us our independence. And for others, it is a celebratory holiday to spend with family. For those on the road this 4th of July, here are three suggestions to do today from East Coast Truck and Tractor Sales:

1. No celebration would be complete without music, so crank up the tunes.

Check out this map compiled by Spotify to see what state you’re traveling is playing the most. Here’s a hint: it’s probably Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the U.S.A.

2. Stay hydrated to make the most of the day.

While this doesn’t make most 4th of July lists, heat exhaustion and dehydration are common in the summer and make it difficult to enjoy the holiday festivities. What you might not have known? Bell peppers, cucumbers, and watermelon are great ways to hydrate in addition to a bottle of water.

3. The night is your personal fireworks show.

If you’re driving on the night of the 4th, keep your eyes peeled for colorful fireworks. Check here to find a place to pause and watch fireworks near you.
